Was Vincent Van Gogh a Cat Lover?

While it’s not known if Van Gogh loved cats, at least one kitty inspired a Van Gogh painting as cats have given inspiration to poets and playwrights.

While nobody has to tell cat lovers what our furry friends do for us, Iams, the pet food company, gave it a try and came up with these thoughts:

Cats warm our laps and give us someone to talk to. They can help reduce high blood pressure, contribute to living a longer life, make your windowsill more beautiful, and make us smile.

Cats have inspired artists and poets and playwrights. They teach us how to stretch, land on our feet, and indulge our desires to really spoil someone.

When Ellie and I were married, a stranger gave us our first cat.  Coming home from work, I noticed a big difference between entering a lonely apartment, when I returned before Ellie, to a home graced with Gabby who made me smile or laugh every evening. And most importantly, Gabby—along with the many other cats and dogs that have helped bless our homes and lives over the years—also taught us how to open our hearts.
